Community Service Events
Giving back to the community is an essential part of BOMA Georgia’s mission.
The Community Service Committee provides association members with opportunities for activity-based networking while serving organizations in need. The committee’s main focus is conducting service projects for Hillside.
Founded in 1888, Hillside is Atlanta's oldest organized charity. A private, not-for profit agency, Hillside provides quality, cost-effective treatment and education to severely emotionally disturbed children, adolescents and their families. Programs include intensive residential psychiatric treatment, therapeutic foster care and community-based family preservation services. Hillside's programs emphasize a supportive structured environment, individualized treatment plans and caring, functional families.
In addition to its work with Hillside, BOMA Georgia conducts one construction-related project each year with another organization, leveraging the unique talents and skills of the membership to serve the community.
BOMA Georgia helps organize the annual Hillside Skills Day where volunteers help demonstrate important professional and life skills that stage Hillside residents for future success.
Community Service Committee members annually assist with Hillside’s holiday party for the children. Opportunities are available to bring treats, socialize with the children and network with peers.
Each year, committee members construct an Angel Tree to provide gifts for the children at Hillside. Members may either make a donation or buy toys for the children.
BOMA Georgia partners with HomeAid to organize a construction project to benefit the community. The project leverages the unique talents and skills of the membership to serve the community.
Service projects have been scheduled for this year. For additional information about any of these community service events, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or (404) 475-9980.
