BOMA Technical Organization (BTO) Quarterly Luncheons bring together building engineers and others interested in the technical aspects of properly maintaining commercial properties. Each luncheon includes educational coverage of a topic important to the industry. To maximize attendance, each luncheon is held twice.
About This Lunch Topic: The Impact of High-Density Part I

"More with less" doesn't just apply to the workload experienced by today's building engineers. Building management and operations staff are dealing with the real-world impacts of denser populations in their building and parking decks with 'more' bodies using 'less' space in buildings.

During this BTO Lunch, codes expert Mark Schroeder with NELSON and building standards expert Charlie Cichetti with Sustainable Investment Group (SIG) will share from their unique perspectives how trends, codes and standards are changing due to higher densities found in today's building spaces. Additionally, attendees will leave understanding how the role of the building engineer is changing from that of maintenance technician to project manager.
