The Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange (GILEE) at GSU in partnership with The Greater Atlanta Chapter of ASIS International, Atlanta UASI, BOMA Georgia, Emory University Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response (CEPAR), GEM&HSA, U.S. Attorney’s Office (Northern District of Georgia), and the U.S. Secret Service, are proud to announce the 11th Annual Law Enforcement / Private Sector Business Continuity summit. This year’s summit will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019, at the Georgia World Congress Center. Registration will begin at 7:00 AM and the program will kick off promptly at 8:00 AM. Training will end at approximately 4:00 PM. Breakfast and lunch will be included. The Summit planning committee has submitted an application for Georgia POST and Georgia Chiefs’ credits, ASIS re-certification points and Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies credits. This year’s Summit will focus on active shooters, including school shooters. The plenary sessions will address planning, response, and recovery from active shooter incidents, and will include presentations on the 2019 Aurora (Illinois) shooting incident, the role of the public information officer, regional resources, and fidelity testing of emergency plans by the creation and use of custom audio crisis scenarios. Breakout sessions featuring identical scenarios will be held with input summarized at the end of the Summit. To help defray the cost of the Summit, a registration fee of $75 will be charged.
