What is BOMA Georgia?


The Building Owners and Managers Association of Georgia (BOMA Georgia) is a trade association representing one of the largest and most revenue-generating industries in the state: commercial real estate. In Georgia, commercial real estate contributes approximately $2 billion to the state’s economy; generates nearly $640 million in new taxable personal earnings and supports nearly 50,000 jobs. How do I make the most of my BOMA membership?

BOMA Georgia encourages professionals to do more than just join the association. Realizing the true value of membership comes through involvement in BOMA Georgia’s various professional development and networking opportunities. Joining shared interest groups (SIG) and/or committees presents great opportunities for members to take advantage of the real value in BOMA membership.

How do I find other BOMA members?

To find BOMA Georgia members who are service providers, use the Products/Services Guide. This feature makes it simple to search BOMA Georgia Allied Members by name, company or industry for BOMA members all across the state of Georgia. To access the general membership directory, you must be a current BOMA Georgia member and can sign in here.

How can I stay connected with BOMA?

What education opportunities exist with BOMA Georgia?

BOMA Georgia offers a robust selection of educational certificate courses and designation courses to meet the needs of property professionals–increasing the professionalism and value of our members to owners and management. How does BOMA Georgia give back to the community?

BOMA Georgia regularly participates in community service projects throughout the year. The Association’s chosen charity is Hillside. Founded in 1888, this private, not-for-profit agency provides quality, cost-effective treatment and education to severely emotionally disturbed children, adolescents and their families. Throughout the year, BOMA Georgia’s Community Service Committee coordinates to hold events like the Field Day Outing, Holiday Party, Kids Clubs, Angel Tree and the Hillside Skills Day to benefit Hillside directly. In addition to all these efforts, BOMA Georgia annually conducts a Construction Project that benefits other not-for-profit programs. Read more

What are BOMA Georgia’s Advocacy Efforts?

Advocacy is an important part of BOMA Georgia’s mission. BOMA Georgia’s Government Affairs Committee works closely with the Board of Directors and staff members to monitor, study and recommend policy and advocacy strategies on legislative and regulatory matters that affect the commercial real estate industry. Utilizing the grassroots advocacy system VOTERVOICE, BOMA Georgia has successfully protected the industry against harmful legislation and promoted the interests of building owners and managers. How can I set my building apart?

Property professionals who want to set their building apart should consider applying for the BOMA 360 Performance Program designation. This 360 Performance Program doesn’t just measure one functional area of a property, like sustainability. Instead, this assessment looks at six key areas of building operations and maintenance and compares them to industry best practices. Visit the BOMA International website to learn more about how this program recognizes and markets buildings as meeting or exceeding industry best practices.

In addition to the 360 Performance Program, BOMA annually holds The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) awards. These awards recognize building and management excellence across multiple property categories. Entrants compete at the Georgia local level. Winners advance to compete in regional competition. Winners from regional then compete on the national stage at BOMA International’s Every Building Conference & Expo. Read more

I am a member. How do I obtain an official BOMA Georgia Member logo for use on my company’s collateral items?

As a BOMA Georgia member, you are entitled to display the BOMA Georgia Member logo on collateral marketing pieces, such as business cards, marketing ads, exhibitor booths, website and other company communications. Before you can begin using the member logo, you must read and sign the BOMA Georgia Member logo terms of use.

Members may not use the standard BOMA Georgia logo. The standard BOMA Georgia logo is reserved for use by the association for identification and the recognition of sponsorships and partnerships.

What is the Job Bank, and what does it cost to post a job?

The Job Bank is a useful resource for job seekers and employers in the commercial real estate industry. The Job Bank is free to use for job seekers and features very affordable rates starting at just $175 for employers who are looking to hire top talent for their businesses. How do I advertise in the BOMA Georgia magazine?

Companies interested advertising in BOMA Georgia’s magazine, Insight: The Commercial Real Estate Journal should contact The Wyman Company at (352) 388-7031 Katie White is the account executive for advertising in all BOMA Georgia publications. The Wyman Company offers placement and ad design services to help make advertising in these industry publications easier for members.

How do I register for a luncheon or other BOMA Georgia event?

Event information and registration can be found on the BOMA Georgia calendar of events. Browse through the list of upcoming events, and when you find an event you are interested in learning more about, click on it to be taken to a description and registration page. To register online, you will need log in credentials.

If you are a BOMA Georgia member, you received log in credentials with your new member packet. If it is your first time registering online, there is an option to create your new profile. There is also a help button if you have lost your username and/or password.

In addition to online registration, there is also a link to a registration form that can be completed electronically or printed and returned by fax or mail to the BOMA Georgia office. Visit the calendar of events!

Where do I find more information about achieving my BOMI designation?

For information on designation types and requirements, visit the BOMI website. To see a list of upcoming courses that are being offered by BOMA Georgia, visit the calendar of events and look for listings beginning with the prefix RPA/FMA (property and facility mangers) and SMA/SMT (engineers).

How do I exhibit at the BOMA Georgia Trade Show?

The annual Trade Show is one of BOMA Georgia’s most highly anticipated and attended events. Exhibit space is coveted, and space fills up quickly. Immediately following the Trade Show, there is a presale for the next year’s show–sold only to the current Trade Show exhibitors. After one month, the presale closes.

General exhibitor booth registration for everyone begins in January the following year. Once registration is open, make sure you reserve your booth at the BOMA Georgia Trade Show as soon as possible.
