2026 Building Engineer Appreciation Day and 20 Years of the Commercial HVAC Certificate Program

Presented by C.L. Burks Commercial Roofing, Horizon Painting & Renovations, and SERVPRO of Decatur, Norcross and Duluth, our 2026 Building Engineer Appreciation Day brought together Georgia’s building engineering professionals on October 8 at Northyards for an afternoon of appreciation, connection, and celebration.

The event recognized the building engineers who keep commercial properties operating safely and efficiently while marking the 20th anniversary of BOMA Georgia’s Commercial HVAC Certificate Program, developed in partnership with Chattahoochee Technical College. Over the past two decades, the program has equipped generations of building engineers with the knowledge and skills needed to operate and maintain commercial properties.

Longtime program instructors Tim Chamblee and Jim Gieselman shared remarks commemorating the milestone and reflecting on the program’s lasting impact. The anniversary also recognized the instructors, students, and graduates who have contributed to the program’s continued success and the advancement of the building engineering profession.
